Taphonomy IV reproduces a lawsuit by Sony for copyright infringement. The copy process leads to a double destruction of the document: not only the engraved text is overlapped and fragmented, but the original papers, hollowed-out by the engraving process, are exhibited for the first time, encased in resin like some kitsch office trinkets.
