MONSTER

Specifically conceived for the Growing Space Wielewaal site, Nicolas Manenti’s new installation "MONSTER" fits both senses of the Dutch term, which is not only analog to the English, but also means “sample”.
An ordinary workspace is swallowed up by a grotesquely distorted floor. But the installation seems to mock the very notion of chaos, with its IKEA-Showroom esthetics stuck under the glasshouse like a theatre scene. the situation provokes a paradoxical feeling made of eeriness and derision.
